Davis NonProfit Consulting was founded in 2011 and is lead by two principals, Russell and Rebecca Davis, who cumulatively have served the nonprofit sector for more than 60 years.
C. Russell Davis
Through more than thirty years of working in leadership positions with the United Methodist Church, Russell Davis has developed expertise in the development of people —board development, leadership development, and youth development. A gifted facilitator with a keen understanding of group dynamics, he has assisted dozens of organizations in strategic and long-range planning and visioning.
Russell is a trained executive coach pursuing certification through the International Coach Federation Certification. You can schedule an executive coaching session with him here.
As the Executive Director of the North Georgia Conference Camp and Retreat Ministries, he leads a team responsible for the ministry and facilities of Glisson Camp and Retreat Center, for Grow Day Camps and the Experiential Leadership Institute and for the newly launched Shoreline Camps. In 2019 these summer ministries served more than 4,700 children and youth.
In his twenty-six years in camping ministries, he has served camps in Virginia, Oklahoma, and South Carolina prior to coming home to Georgia. He serves as Chairperson for the Association of United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries, has led and designed workshops and events for a variety of United Methodist and American Camp Association regional and national conferences. A long-time Visitor for the American Camp Association, he serves on the Advisory Council for Camp Southern Ground founded by country music legend Zach Brown and as a representative to the ecumenical Outdoor Ministries Connection. He attended Georgia Southern College (now University) in Statesboro during the Erk Russell national championship years and attended seminary at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.
